Airports and Train Stations

Travel of any sort can be stressful at the best of times. This is particularly true within such buildings  as airports or train stations where there are numerous  mediums of noise such as tannoy announcements, people, machines, engines... just writing this is stressful!

The point being where vast areas of space and people exist so does the likelihood of unrestricted sound.

This said there is a noticeable change within these environments with far more attention being paid to the internal sound management of departure areas. Heathrow Terminal 5 is a great example of where subtle internal acoustics has been applied, creating a tangible acoustic improvement.

We recently undertook a much smaller undertaking at the Skyteam Departures lounge at Heathrow Terminal 4, to great effect. The suspended Strato Acoustic Ceiling was used for a quiet area seating area.

Acoustic design in such environments will provide a tangible improvement providing a noticeably more harmonious feel.
